A push button cover helps prevent accidental or unauthorised operation of controls and supports good machine safety practice, including under EN ISO 13850 (emergency stop) and EN ISO 14118 (prevention of unexpected start-up). It does not replace proper energy isolation, so isolate and lock out the power source with an approved isolating device as well. Emergency stop buttons must stay accessible and operable in an emergency, so do not lock a cover over an active emergency stop.
